The difference i'm finding with CPU teams at Rookie level is that there is guaranteed playing time every game, the AI, I presume picks on ability or if it's a human player. In terms of playing I mean the dot is going usually to be a starter.

With human run times, often the coach will select his or the other 'admin' like scout's dot even if they are not as good as other dots. I understand that principle and it's like that in real world as well, especially in companies, where the best and brightest don't necessarily prosper but the loyal beta lieutenants will.

Of course it doesn't really help by swapping loyalty for ability if you want to win games.

Of course being a starter is one thing, a back up can do well, if they are given the opportunity to showcase. I know there are numerous ways to hobble the playing time of dots as a owner, by putting them down the depth chart, not including on certain plays etc.

Most teams, especially at the lower levels just use the recommended 98/99 substitution setting, which is also the default used by CPU teams.

Looking through your players though, I don't really see where this is an issue other than your DT on the Predators and I can tell you that the team owner of that team is inexperienced and most likely needs help figuring out how to get equal playing time.

For example, you are third on the DT depth chart and 2nd on the NT. The DT has 4 players and the NT has 3. That is likely going to affect your playing time.

Plus there is the stamina of each player, I can tell you that the owner and other players on that team probably aren't building properly because I had messaged the owner during the pre season because I saw some glaring issues with players on that team and I gave him advice, not sure if he used it or not though.

Yes, you are right and very insightful as well.

I'm still getting back up to date, been on and off since season 16. I've also noticed that quite a few of teams seem to be only stuffed only with players created by the owner. I can see the advantages of that (control etc) but it kinda seems to defeat the purpose of the game and human interaction, but since they bring major flex in, it's here to stay.

It’s definitely easier to control how dots are built with less agents.

I’m running a team and we all have the same end goal but everyone is doing it slightly different

You definitely lose some control when you have multiple agents on a team, but if you run the team properly (in my opinion - I'm hardly the most successful owner out there) the experience of being part of a team can be just as important as winning. To that end, I do my best to make sure all our agents have roles for their dots, and I try to ensure they're all featured in team highlights as often as I can.
