I don't see many QBs using it. Does it not work as intended, or is it just not worth it?

I've variously heard that it's a) not very good; and b) can cause your QB to move on from receivers he might want to focus on for another second.

I figured it might be something like that. The description makes it sound perfect, so the fact that no one uses it made me think that there was an underlying reason.
Thanks!

i think it mostly comes down to the better OCs work on getting the timing of the progressions the way they want them, and quick read throws off this timing.

Not worth it. Doesn't work as intended. Basically players will trigger as "OPEN" but defenders are close enough to get PD/INT.
GLB's pass game is a bit of a glitch-fest, and by selecting open man, you remove power from the OC to control progression timing and keep the QB out of trouble, instead giving the power to frankly shitty coding logic.
I do not recommend, and I refuse to ever OC another QB who has significant quick read.

Pretty strong answers--great job guys.

Yep. Enough said
QBs get everything they need built in. It doesn't matter which extra SA you take, when you don't have to spend points in it.

Loved it, but we build the offense around the use.

This could be even more effective now with all the zone defenses, and bait plays.
Thoughts?

Probably worse with the Open Man glitches

I was wondering that myself. Would it be better or worse?
