Question for you CB vets out there. With the implementation of the advanced defensive tactics and being able to play a Cover 2 style pass defense and more specific zone plays than just a deep zone, what do you think the prototypical CB build is going to be?

Since you are playing 1-10 yards off the line I would think you would want really high vision as well as str/tackling. I feel like speed/agility will be somewhat important but not that important as you are going to be reacting to players in your space moreso than you are watching 1 player.

Figured I might try to get some input from some vets as I am incubating a low level guy right now =)

From what I understand about a cover 2, is that safeties will be carrying out the zone assignment over the top, splitting the field into halves. The CBs underneath will be carrying out man assignments. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thats 2 Man deep or Cover 2 Man under. True cover 2, or Tampa 2 (or what Duny runs in Indy) is when the CB's are big and physical and play the short zone, while the safeties play over the top.

I'd think like you said it would be important to have high vision, strength and tackling, while not fully neglecting speed and agility. Either way, I think you'd have to wait until the tactics go live and test out different things to truly see how everything works.

I think you will need more balance in your attributes for sure.
