I'll admit.. I am not very experienced on all the bullshit little secrets to GLB.. lol I want to make a bad ass DT and I need help.. here he is.. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=660325

I still haven't even assigned the first 15 skill points!

I am also very curious about "slow building".

1st... Retire him before you spend any flex on custom equipment.

2nd... Re-create and Re-roll him until you get five 8's (throwing, catching, carrying, kicking, punting) and a Strength roll of at least 19 if not a magical 20 or 21).

3rd... Skill point his Strength until it hits the soft cap of 48 (You should reach this at level 4).

4th... Train in Agility, Vision, Tackling, Speed until you have your soft cap Strength.

Keep us updated.

At this point your DT will be level 4, have his most important attribute at 48 and ready to start rounding out his talents a bit more.

Will retiring my player give me the 200 flex back? The only reason I kept this roll is because I loved his size.. I know, I know how little it matters.. lol

Yeah, you always get 100% of the original creation points spent back. The way I see it, if you are going to build with patience then those extra points in useless categories when they are above 8 are simply wasted as they could be in a useful area with a better roll. Let us know when you have the roll you really love.

Pretty good start. With tackling set to wrap-up in tactics you won't need to put many points into tackling, none for a while. I'd train his vision a lot for now. He has the makings of a great one and being 6'6" doesn't hurt. At 30 Strength you'll have 15 more from levels and 1.98 in strength from him leveling three times. You'll need to train one time in Strength to safely hit the soft cap of 48 at level 4 and after that you have a nice head start in Agility with it being so high already.

Best of luck with him. Keep us posted.

I'm certainly not an expert or even a veteran, still very new myself but have spent hours and hours reading and learning.

Panther looks to be a good one as well.

I have a level 4 LDE whom I've followed this strategy on.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=638527 (can't open viewing during training, sorry)

He is a back-up on a human owned expansion team and is in full gear with +6 custom.

Strength 48.5, Agility 22.25, Speed 16.02, Stamina 15.47, Tackling 14.5 (Pretty darn good in my opinion for a level 4)

I'll be placing his skill points into Agility and then Speed at a ratio of about 4-1 until he hits his soft cap of 48 in Agility in 7 levels.

At level 8 I'll upgrade his custom equipment with the 300 flex and take the pass rush tree SA and also upgrade his current standard equipment another +1 each piece. I'm not placing any skill points into his SA's until level 12 at the soonest.

Another player, a RDE agility based build I'm doing is being very, very slow built:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=641458 (open viewing)

When he levels tomorrow to level 3 I'll spend his 25 skill points and he will be at his soft cap in Agility already and can then focus on strength.

I obviously wanted to DE's of two different build types to see how they eventually perform once built and rounded out. Everything I've read seems to say Strength for LDE's and Agility for RDE's. Time will tell.

Good luck to Panther.

Just one problem, i rolled a player using your advice except i rolled a 10 instead of an 8 on carrying, but I now have 36 pts. in strength after spending my initial 15 pts.

Shouldnt i have saved some points for stamina?

Through PM's you have my opinion on that. Stamina can be trained while in the d-leagues. Even with a 10 stamina, if your player starts in the d-leagues and plays on normal he can still get 40+ plays a game. Of course training up your stamina is needed because at higher levels when he is going to play for a human team he will need his stamina as energy levels are affected more and become more important. So for now train his stamina and if you like you can add stamina to his low level standard gear but plan on selling it later to place other stats on it once he's gotten his Stamina trained.

would you use this same strategy when rolling up a new de or would speed or tackling come into it as well?
