Thanks for posting!

I don't build DEs, but I'm going to guess that among the responses will be that you're too invested in SAs for this point in the build, and that you have too many "in the middle of being capped" attributes (strength and vision are in no-man's land at the moment).

Perhaps someone told you to put SP's into SA's this early and, if so, then that's on them. Otherwise, it's not the norm of dot building. Other than that, at your current level, I'd say it's not that bad. What is your AEQ/BT situation because, depending on that, it's getting close to switching to light training time. Where I think I'd go is more tackling (into the 80's at least) and more Stamina. More Strength would be ok too but I'm not sure it's a deal breaker as it's a pass rush DE. You for sure are going to need more jumping for two reasons. #1, is to be much better at diving tackles (as a D-lineman you'll do a lot of those) and the other is to bat down the passes when he can't get to the QB in time. Confidence to 40 opens up OTK but that's a personal thing... if you're not interested in OTK then it's probably fine. Just a quick thought. If you haven't gotten all your AEQ yet, perhaps you could use one for Relentless Pursuit so you won't have to spend so many SP's to push it up. And at least 2 5% Break Block pieces as well (3 might be better).

I would agree with the assessment that you are over-invested in SAs at this point. However, it's a decent build. Here is what I would do....

Strength to the 80.54 cap. If you don't get at least this high, your dot will be a liability against the run, and pass rusher or not, he will have to do that occasionally.

Train confidence and jumping up to 33ish. At end build, both need to be at least 40.

60+ stamina and vision by end build.

AEQ + CEQ should end up with 2 % break block items, and 2 % make tackle items (all CE bonuses into the same thing for a 12% item.) There is no way in hell I would use an AEQ for Relentless Pursuit, which would be a 75 BT enhancement cost...if I'm going to spend 75 BTs, I'm getting a 5% item. Frankly, just leave that bonus SA alone. Invest in the first 4 SAs in the bottom tree and call it a day.

I just realized, as I was about to close the tab with your dot, that you already have an AEQ in Shed Block. I wouldn't recommend selling it unless you get lucky while shopping and find a great piece. I'm still a big proponent of % items for EQ.

Thanks for the helpful responses.

The SA's i put 2 in each, so 8 pts total "wasted" i guess.

I happened to get lucky and roll a % break block and a shed block SA. So I have 2 currently
13% BB and +5 SB

Ill work on some of these areas.

maybe go 50/50 on the eq for speed and agility. need a lot of agility to break blocks and get around guys, make cuts etc.

true but you're racing the clock to get to the QB before he throws. Speed kills

Truth. First Step is a must have to gain that tiny advantage of getting there a touch quicker.

This.

I would advise you to get vision 2nd capped (around 61) and then just grind tackling/strength. He'll surely need bit more strength to keep from getting run over come lvl 79.

Then get tons of First Step; it's killer for DEs

Not to pile on with what's already been said, but it's kind of important to understand the "why"

There's 2 things the DE needs to do...

#1 Get by the OT

#2 Get to the QB before he throws

There's RNG (random number generation i.e. a die roll) to get by the OT (a few rolls in fact)

a good roll by the OT or a bad roll by the DE means the DE get's stopped, conversely a good roll by the DE or bad roll by the OT means the DE will get by

Assuming the DE wins, he still needs to get all the way to the QB.

If you gear for Agility, and try to live off Technique Man VA, then yes, you'll be the block breaking champion of the world. If there was a trophy for that, then you'd win um all. but sadly, there isn't one... because no one cares because you'll be too slow to ever get a sack.

If you gear for Speed, then it'll come down to luck with rolls as to whether you get by the OT. But those times that you do, you'll have a really good chance of getting a sack.

That makes sense, i can try and get a FS AEQ as my 3rd piece.

Jumping is the only thing i haven't touched. Should I be training that up?

% AEq gear is always the first option you should consider (even 3% if BT's are tight).
