Forum > Suggestions > Add HB, FB, and QB to the GL Specifc Depth Chart Spots (for 2 point conversions)

It appears the default depth chart is used for 2 point conversions (when selecting QB, HB, and FB). This is troublesome if you use your scat back or ehb in the default RB spot on the depth chart instead of the phb. We have no choice in 2 point conversion plays, which is also a bit ridiculous, but, we should at least be able to select who we want slamming into a wall of defenders for 2 points.

Well, if we're going to go there, the problem is far larger.

Why shoudn't 2-point conversions be a programmable input for the ENTIRE offense, and the ENTIRE defense?

For those of you who wish to scream in reply "The offense is over-powered", my reply is "Why isn't THAT the problem we're addressing rather than this suggestion about the depth chart for an extremely limited 2-point conversion strategy?".

Yeah that would be my larger argument. Incrementally I would at least like to select the back and blockers involved in the play and where they line up.

it doesn't pull from the goalline specific part of the depth chart?

GL specific depth chart is only for OL & TE. I'm not sure if it pulls from that depth chart for those positions, but RB, FB & QB would still be a problem.

I believe it just grabs RB, FB, QB, the ones w/out the numbers, like...the non custom slots.

yeah, that's what I was saying in the OP. I am suggesting that there should be some way to choose the ball carrier. Maybe at the very least it should be documented somewhere that the default depth chart is used in 2-point conversions so people don't discover this when their whole AI setup uses the RB slot for the Scat Back

when 2pts came in, i seem to remember there being a thread on how it is setup. i thought that it just used qb/hb/fb, along with the gl o-line.

Yeah, that does seem to be what happens. My problem is that how it works isn't documented anywhere. At the very least put it on the depth chart page so people can see how it works and set up their depth charts accordingly. Or, allow coords to set up a 2 point conversion chart, or, let us run it as any other offensive play is run and allow us to set it up how we want.

There really shouldn't be any reason why you can't select HB / QB / FB in goalline specific

This is by far the better approach (as well as the OP's suggestion). When going for 2 points, the entire playbook should be available and not just one specific formation. Also, more Goalline plays really should exist than what does. I can name several that do not (exist in the current playbook).

Upvote, though I have to ask - why does the QB matter?

If its not going to let you QB dive, what difference who hands off?

Sure you can rest your starter I suppose but that seems trivial when you cant rest your CBs and WRs....
