There's only 5 games left in the season, so I was curious about who may be a lock for playoff spots.

It looks like Rohrheim, Reykjavik, Valencia, and Frankfurt have locked up playoff spots in Zeta. No teams are locks in Alpha, maybe after next week. Only PA Molosses in Alpha and Helsinki in Zeta appear to be completely out of contention.

Someone let me know if I got it wrong.

Most likely, but not completely. All but Helsinki are still within mathematical reach and have games against either Oslo or Rotterdam.

I think that will likely change next game.

The teams corey mentioned are likely to be out barring some catastrophic meltdown by the teams right in front of them

Nobody has clinched a spot in the playoffs yet, but after next game some might. Frankfurt, Rejavik, Rohrheim, and Valencia can clinch a playoff spot with one win in the rest of the season.

If your going to delv that deep into it its impossible for ALL the teams below the top four in Zeta to win enough for them to all miss out on the Play Offs.

Either way Stampede, having won 10 games and already having beaten Paris and Oxford HAVE secured a Play Off Spot.
On the grounds that neither Oxford or Paris could suppass them in the Standings at this point.

Same for R.Aggies.
And Goats.
And Heat.

So actually even if Stampede, Goats, Heat and Aggies lost their remaining games and finished 10-6 and BOTH Paris and Oxford won their remaining games and finished 10-6 none of the top 4 teams would miss the play offs.

Looked at the current standings after I got back this weekend and my counting looks like this.

In Alpha, Valhalla, Berlin, Woodridge, and Lake Charles have clinched playoff berths. Stuttgart, Blackpool, Glastonbury, and PA have been eliminated from playoff contention.

In Zeta, Reykjavik, Frankfurt, Valencia, Rohreim and the Trolls have clinched playoff berths. The Scorgasms, SGPO, Bari, Dfools, SOUTH TEXAS, and Helsinki have all been eliminated from playoff contention.

No teams have secured home field advantage and no teams have locked up relegation.

Congratulations to Berlin, Frankfurt and the Trolls for making the playoffs in their first season in WEPL.

After today's games, a little has changed.

Alpha: London and FTA both clinched playoff berths today. It is still possible for both teams to earn a home game, which places major implications on their matchup on Friday. Woodridge clinched a home field game. Due to their loss to FTA, I am not sure if it is possible that Berlin has not locked a home field game. However, their remaining schedule features two teams that will be relegated, so they have pretty much secured home field until, at least, the WEPL Championship Game.

E-city, Wembley, AWC, Copenhagen, and Nice all have possible tie breakers over each other, leaving a real tangled mess for the last two playoff spots.

Lyon was officially eliminated from playoff contention today. Paris-Asnieres is locked up relegation to AAA and will be joined by Glastonbury unless they can find a way to win both of their next two games.

Zeta: Oslo clinched a playoff berth today and Frankfurt has secured at least one home field game. With losses to both Korb and Oslo, Paris' shot is looking grim, while Oxford has a shot to earn a possible tie breaker over Korb on Friday.

No other teams have been eliminated in Zeta. Helsinki will be relegated, and SOUTH TEXAS will join them unless they win out.

Actually, Frankfurt has locked up home field advantage. This is our next game: http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=278&team2=315 and even if we lose the one after that to E-City (who are much more than "a strong team", as our owner called them) we have the tie breaker over everyone in the conference except 5-loss Korb.

It seems that you are probably right. For the most part, I have been trying not to assume outcomes of future games, even if they seem obvious. But yeah, Frankfurt's top seed seems about as secure as Berlin's.

Congratulations to two new teams wrapping up the top seeds (barring any catastrophes).
