Is there any noticeable effectiveness of either of these abilities? I'm trying to determine if they will be a worth while investment or not.

Yes they work... although I'm not a fan of diving catch at all. To make it work at all you'll need a lot of jumping skill... more than most speed builds ever put into their dots. As for 1-handed catch, I'd prefer Jump catch instead but it does work. A lot of people don't like these but I've used them (specifically Jump Catch mostly) on some specific builds. They're not a good choice for MOST standard builds (speed arch wr's and TE's ect, ect.) But they're decent IF they're a part of your dot design from the very start. I've used them on some of my Power Arch builds since I know they'll never be able to outrun the defenders because of their build style (basically a blocking/possession build). However, if you don't include Jumping and max out the dot's height to take advantage of the SA or VA you're wanting, then the effectiveness of it is greatly reduced. So, unless you really planned for 1 handed, diving catch, or Jump Catch when you started with the build, then there's MUCH more effective SA's and VA's out there that will help you more than these will.

Tried 1 Handed Catch with him http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4439619 and I don't think I ever saw one, not even once. I'm sure they happen, but very, very rarely.

http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4288659 = I had all of the SA's on this dot myself and honestly I think they are all a total waste of SP's. He had a few diving catches but only enough to count on one hand. Also you do not need jumping catch to even attempt one as they can 'fire' naturally in the sim, so the SA is only a boost to that. As far as 1HC, since Bort never made it show in the replay it's entirely impossible to even know when it fires. I would assume it is even less often than the other 2 SA's. Better to invest in something like RR which is active every play or SH's which is active on all catch attempts.

So much this. There's so many things out there that NEVER show when it fires so there's no way to really gauge it's effectiveness. That said, the end line is whenever trying to figure out what SA's to spend SP's on (or to get as your extra or to get in AEQ) you really got to ask 2 things; #1 what are you building to accomplish? Taking a SA that doesn't address your dot's design is a waste of time. #2 is there any other SA's out there that can help you MORE than the one you're considering? A SA that you know works is always better than one you're not sure of.
