Don't have the time to search for the answer so i'll just put it here.

Is there a time during the season or if at all anymore where you can reset your basic EQ?

I seem to remember this being an option like 1-2 years ago.

i know that it ends on day 1, but can't remember if it starts on day 41 or day -8

Yeah. I think it's either before rollover on day -1... or day 0 of preseason. After that you're locked in until day 41 again.
