no one knows the exact penalty.

probably a pretty fucking horrible idea though.

OOP penalty for one position over is 3% and 5% forward or back I.E. safety to LB 3 and LB to DE 5. As I I saw it with my OOP team safeties are considered secondary unit but in line penalty wise with OLB's. Unfortunately I do not have a chart for it as of yet.

On the contrary as a SS is ideal build type for certain LB position/tasks. Can actually over come the penalty with advantage of arch difference. A FS however would not be my choice

no position is ideal for another position.

Exactly. There is a progression from 'minor penalty' to 'major disaster' for every single position in the game. Most are common sense when figuring out... like a Kicker makes a better punter in a pinch than a DT does, eh?
For the OP's question I think the progression of positions when looking for OOP damage is as follows;

A SS playing FS is the least penalty, probably right around 3%.
A SS playing LB would be next on that list... probably around 4 to 5% damage.
A SS playing CB would be nest on that list and I wouldn't advise playing a SS anywhere but those 3 spots to avoid major damage to it's abilities.

A FS is pretty much the same except flip the LB and CB spots.

Hope this helps you Mr. Top.

Lol and thankyou all....Penalty not as big/bad as I thought although with more "play" in the DPP and substituions it would be unnecessary.....SS would be in a TE cover role but I want the LB elsewhere lol....

So thanks...... its time for some musing....then moseying on down to my lil ole Pearly Gates for some lovin' !!

If you need to play a safety at LB, you should probably start researching on how to pucker your butthole.

General OOP is %5. One position over with arch similar works out to 3 or 4. Yes you should not do it if you can avoid it, but always a butt with a frog...some people need to fill in and SS at LB depending on arch and job, can actually work well.

Did I run an algorithm for the % no for my OOP team. Did I watch the numbers and test-yes. Couple other OOP goodies I learned as well so, no its not bort logic, but then again none of that shit is real
