What are your thoughts for a special team dot besides the kicker, punter and returner?

Ehhhhhh... I've used it but, generally speaking, if it's a ST ONLY dot, there's a lot of other VA's I'd take before it.

definition:
This player seems to come up big when needed. The Clutch ability gives this player access to various bonuses towards making plays on offense, defense, kicking, and punting in 3rd and 4th down situations, especially late in the game. Each level of Clutch increases the likelihood of triggering a bonus by 5%.
don't think it works for special teams cover guys, blockers or returners, never actually tried it though. Don't think theres a way to prove its firing.

I know but this is where it gets 'technical'. So if it effects a kicker or punter (which is an ST player by definition)... then you must assume it does so because the kicker OR punter is kicking or punting in a 4th down situation (excluding kickoffs). At that time, the players on the field (also ST players) are playing on the SAME DOWN... therefore the VA should fire for them as well. The 'DOWN' doesn't change during the punt/kick... it changes with the NEXT play from the new LOS. Technically speaking. Add to that the mention of the 'especially late in the game' clause which leads one to believe that in a close game, late in the game, then the VA (could) fire at anytime... any down. Which would still cover ST players. It's one of several descriptions of SA's and VA's that are poorly worded and somewhat confusing.

I can see what you mean, but I don't think that's how it works, I've never heard of a clutch gunner. Kicker? yep. QB? oh yeah. Even WR/TE coming up big when the game is on the line. As for the definition, he does that all the time for ST players, like "special teamer" doesn't work for K/P and "distance runner" doesn't work for KR/PR.
I wouldn't waste vet points on it.
