Looking at most of the WL dots they have 10-11 in 3-4 SAs versus 20+ in one. Is it just diminished returns past 11 or is there virtually no benefit?

It has been said that anything past 12 in a sa you loose to much of its value for what you put into it. I believe that might of even came from Borts mouth one time.

I think Bort said something along the lines of past 12-13 the effects are very small.

Though I am tempted to make a 174 spd HB with 39 quick cut. Sounds AWESOME!

haha that would be ridiculous!

I am going to give a ridiculous number a shot. Everything else has been done in this game

This is the only way to play IMO.

It's more like this, dude. Just as when you build you dots... once your skill reaches a certain number, the cost in SA's to push it higher reaches a point where you simply don't get the benefit of the cost of effort. Sure... a Speed of 199 will always be much more awesome than a Speed of 175. But a dot with a speed of 199 will have virtually no other abilities at all, meaning it can't turn worth a crap, drops the ball when breathed on, and can only play in 1/8th of the game because it has no stamina, strength, agility, carrying, catching... anything. There's just a point when it doesn't work anymore.
That said, I WOULD do some serious math and work with the VPB to see just how high you could take speed without putting a single point into any other skill. It would be cool to know that.

In the VPB private forum a couple years ago we played a game to see who could reach the highest attribute level. This wasn't the winner, but was the highest 4-major speed posted. These are all 0 AEQ dots just for reference, we were just trying to see how high we could get a single attribute while ignoring everything else. 131.17 was the highest 3 major attribute achieved, but 132 was possible, however someone blew up the game by getting a pre-archetype center to 138 strength.

Imho 0AEQ test builds are actually slower than 4AEQ test builds, since 126 + 46 (equipment without any AE) = 172. I had a HB faster than 172 so I'm 0% impressed with that.

Also, since max training gains over 100 is 2% which can be had with 4x multi, intense, or normal, means when you are training an attribute over 100, normal training is 100% absolutely optimal. As such it's not that hard to get 4AE since you are normal training almost your whole career. (4x multi 5x enhance speed gives only 0.5% speed per day, while normal gives 2% speed per day, meaning normal gaining gets far more speed and BTs fyi).

I did a test build to like 178 strength. It was so god awful, words cannot even describe. Since like 24 SPs is 5 levels of SPs, you are taking like 25+ levels of SP's (125 SPs) just to get that extra 4 points. I'm not saying 174 is optimal as an argument can be made for less, but going over that is so incredibly horrible on 4-major dot it makes them useless.

Yeah that build definitely wasn't posted as inspiration or anything, and we were(or at least I was) trading all BT's for SP's since we weren't counting EQ at all as it was just a VPB thought experiment. Looking back at the actual dates on that thread it was nearly 4 years old, back when we were still stumbling through archetypes and multi-training, and the accelerated player building.
