There were a lot less 'significant' games this week. I picked a couple though I thought could be interesting

I’m not real sure there could be a worse matchup this week for Chicago. Coming off of an upsetting loss to OFG in what was a very good and competitive game, they are on the outside looking in for the playoffs and if they lose this week, there’s a real chance they don’t get another opportunity to get in. Odessa had a couple of stumbles early but this is WL it’s not exactly as though teams are losing to truly ‘bad’ teams. Sure their record might suggest they’re not very good at this level but you got to be pretty good to even get here so it’s all a matter of perspective. Furthermore, one of their two losses was to the #1 ranked team in Alpha, if there was a ‘bad’ loss it was to Java. Last week against SOFPM Odessa did have a couple of stumbles offensive, an Interception and a fumble (that wasn’t lost) but they also did a very good job at forcing turnovers (3 Ints). They got what they needed out of the offense and defensively their players were on point and wrapping guys up well. Where South Otto failed was in their running game, not a lot of yardage and no scores. Unfortunately for Chicago that could prove to be problematic. They had a respectable running game last week against OFG but they also threw 2 Interceptions. If they can eliminate the turnovers they have a shot here, but if they can’t, I really think their running game will suffer because they’ll be forced to abandon it.
Prediction: Odessa Mojo 24-23

With an impressive victory last week over OPT, BDS improved their playoff seeding. This week they face yet another opponent in a fight for seeding advantages. I suggested last week that it was a “real possibility” that BDS lost, in fact, I didn’t even include them in the write-up because I viewed it as a sure thing…well now who’s the fool? BDS did not play a perfect game but what they did do is limit OPT defensively and do plenty on offense. It was a narrow victory and they did turn the ball over, but their rushing attack was huge. In the end, they nearly gave the game away with a fumble on a punt return that was taken to the house. This week they need to try to clean up the mistakes but then…just continue where they left off against OPT. MW is coming off of a disappointing loss to Polk High last week, not necessarily surprising but certainly disappointing. Both teams’ passing success was similar, the difference was in Mayan’s lack of a running game. That is something they need to change this week, they are not going to beat BDS without a quality rushing attack, if they can force BDS to make mistakes and get their ground game going, they have a real shot.
Prediction: BDS 42-28
