Hello folks, I hope you don’t mind me making an appearance here. I am the owner of the Williamsport Soul Reavers, currently stationed in Pac-Pro; hopefully being promoted to WL in S46.
It is my ‘thing’ to create and post weekly game threads for Pac-Pro (or w/e league I’m a part of) in the league forum. I haven’t been as active as I’ve wanted to this season with it in Pac-Pro or even SEO’s tournament like I told him I would be (that is because of my daughter who was born on Dec 18th, I thought 1 kid was a lot to keep up with….)
But I thought you might enjoy getting a glimpse of what you have to look forward to next season should WSR be successful in the playoffs in making it to WL.
I’ll do my best to give an accurate assessment of everyone’s team, I can’t say I’ve followed you guys much season to season, I remain aware of your teams and see the success, but I haven’t taken the time to break down what each team does or doesn’t do well. The more I see your teams in action, the better my assessments/write-ups will be.
Disclaimer: My write-ups tend to be ‘brutal’, sarcastic, comedic, and sometimes very literal and serious. If you can’t stand the heat stay out of the thread, it’s not my intent to disrespect anyone, I try to add some ‘character’ to my write-ups to make them interesting, so don’t take it personally if you don’t like what I write about your team.

Chicago Hedgehogs @ ***Official*** Football Guys
First question, I just have to ask, are hedgehogs common in Chicago? How is that relevant? Who’s writing this thing, you or me? Thank you, it’s relevant because I said so. Now moving forward, this game has huge implications for both of these teams. Right now OFG is sitting on the outside looking in for the playoffs, however, that could change If CH loses. BDS plays the #1 team in Alpha this week, PRDM plays the Dead Presidents a rivalry that has heavily favored DP in the past, and well, OFG plays the Hedgehogs. IF Chicago wins they will keep their playoff hopes intact, however, if BDS, PRDM and CH lose this week (may not take all 3, I haven’t done the math yet) which is a real possibility, OFG could actually jump from #10 to #7 in the seeding (dependent on how their loss to BDS factors in). With a game against PRDM later this season, if they can stay on track they could squeak out a playoff spot. The even better situation for OFG is that they have an extremely favorable schedule moving forward. Chicago has a very rough schedule ahead imo, with Odessa & Polk High on the horizon. If Chicago loses this game, there is a very real chance they do not make the playoffs. They’re coming off of a very good win over DP but their last truly competitive game was against PRDM. It was a close game but turnovers and missed tackles derailed Chicago’s opportunity for a victory. Last week OFG also turned the ball over and squeaked out a close win. This week, both of these teams need to protect the football and Chicago’s coaching staff needs to teach their players how to tackle. OFG is a team that is likely drooling over the opportunity to side step whiffed tackles and take some runs to the house and like I said, this is not a game that Chicago can afford to lose.
Prediction: OFG 17-13
South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice @ Odessa Mojo
Mayan Warriors @ Polk High
MW is coming off of a very unsurprising victory over Cincinnati, while Polk High is coming off a respectable loss to Orlando; respectable in that Orlando is a very good team. Polk High’s JaNorDoor Smith threw 2 Touchdowns and FIVE interceptions…good lord dude.. do you need glasses or are you just color blind and all the jersey’s look the same? Maybe you just don’t pay enough attention to the guys in your locker room to know that the ones you’re throwing to, don’t actually play for your team.. What’s so funny King Slayer? The last time you faced someone worth mentioning this season you threw 3 Ints to be sure you outpaced Tywin The Tyrant with his 3… How does someone throw 10 Interceptions in a single game and not go completely CPU the next day? I’d say it’s safe to suggest that the team winning this game is the team that can throw under 3 picks..maybe.. I don’t know, it doesn’t seem that there’s much you can safely say about either of these teams in that department. This game has seeding implications as do most this time of the season. Both teams have to do a better job establishing their offense and protecting the football at this point. Both have shown the ability to do that, but they’ve gotta put it all together at the same time for a clean victory.
Prediction: Polk High 24-21
Zeta Conference
Oakland Supressinators @ Burnside Bandits
This is an opportunity that Burnside could really use. They’ve got a lot of losses to likely playoff teams, the better they do the better Round 1 matchup they’ll face (better for them that is). Trying to keep in perspective that these are WL teams, I’m not getting a great vibe for Burnside this week. They’ve coming in with quite a losing streak against quality teams. Like many teams in most seasons they are struggling to put together an efficient offensive game. Missed Tackles, the lack of a rushing attack, & turnovers have hurt them in their recent matchups so moving forward, they have to find a way to get their running game going, I think it all starts there. Even with a win here, they might not jump (depends on how tie breakers actually work, which I’m not real sure on in GLB). What I do know is this, Oakland played an efficient game last week, no turnovers, but also no real ‘glaring’ or break out performances. Their RBs ran respectably and by RBs I mean their HB & QB and actually their QB had more yardage with both getting into the end zone just once. So what do they need to do better in this game? Really I don’t think they necessarily need to do anything better however they can’t do anything poorly. Turnovers could derail the efficiency of their offense and give Burnside an opportunity that they might not have otherwise had to get a victory. Neither defense has an abnormal amount of missed tackles, so for Burnside this really comes down to establishing a running game and forcing turnovers. For Oakland it comes down to continuing in their ways and not turning the ball over.
Prediction: Oakland 21-14
Santorini Inferno @ Morning Glory
Santorini finds themselves in a ‘must-win’ in terms of seeding this week, coming off of an ‘ugly’ loss to Indianapolis, they’ve got to find a way to rebound against MG. The issue is that MG probably has an axe to grind this week after what was a head scratching second half, okay…. Timeout; let me get back to Santorini. The Brightside for SI last week is that they didn’t turn the ball over on offense, however the bad side is they gave up 2 Passing TDs and over 400 yards rushing. Morning Glory last week only turned the ball over once and got 3 Ints themselves, they barely mustered a passing offense however to go along with their 1 passing TD. Despite having one RB with 2 TDs they didn’t have any TDs that had 100+ yards alone…on the bright side, MG didn’t allow any RBs to get more than 17 yards last week and that was a FB..granted they gave up nearly 400 yds passing and 4 TDs, but who’s counting right? Timeout…I should probably talk about Aurelien Colin and his 3 successful FG’s but all of those only count for a fraction of what LBS scored. Coming into this game, MG needs to keep forcing turnovers but do something about the pass yardage they’re allowing. They also need to get things figured out offensively because they need to score more points, clearly. Santorini however might have their backs against the wall but they are capable here, it’s going to require them to get more out of their offense entirely…Timeout..I almost forgot to mention that to make matters worse for Santorini they’re’ playing on the road.
Prediction: Morning Glory 35-17
For the record, I initially intended to do write-ups for all the games, then as I continued to type I realized how long I was making each write up, I just kept thinking of things to say, I decided to cut down the # of write-ups I was going to do initially (I want to make sure you guys enjoy them before I do more).
I tried to pick the games I felt had the biggest playoff implications, they don’t necessarily include the best teams or best games.
