This is probably GLB 1.1 but since 1 is getting a little stale and 2 doesn't appeal to me...

Suggesting that there could be a way for a QB to call audibles. No idea how it could be done but I figure that is why Bort and associates make the big bucks).

Thx. I'm now ready for the "NGH" replies.

I say "Good day"!

there already is such a thing to some extent-- QBs can "call their own number" and tuck the ball and take off running with it on called pass plays (although they usually get tackled for a loss). QBs can also "audible" by having one or more player (HB, FB, TE) block rather than run a pass route.

On the one hand, I would love to be much more football-like and have audibles (maybe even realistic penalties! ). On the other hand, since they don't allow us much room to work with defenses (you know... things like custom positioning and defensive play creating)... there's no freakin way I want the offenses to have any more ability than they already have over the defenses. It's lop-sided already.

not if defensive audibles are created also.

I'll take ANYTHING on the defensive side of the ball. Almost everything done, before they stopped doing anything at all, was done to boost and help offenses. I cannot even remember the last upgrade to the game that helped defenses. It's been that long.

I am not about to try and find the post, but Bort posted long ago that it was his intention to keep GLB an offensive-oriented game.

Must be why there are still so many trolls in the forums.

I understand that Defense has been hamstrung by limiting the DPC....... I would have MUCH rather seen them add an OPC to counter what defenses were doing instead, but they decided to hit the easy button and just take something away instead........ silly.

I love defense........ that being said, who would want to go back to boring 6-3 ball games? An offense-driven game is much more enjoyable to play and watch.

<------- this guy

It shows a lot more talent imo to hold another team to single digits than to run up the score.

6-3 games just aren't a realistic attention grabber for the average joe. Because in a game like this that generally means nobody is really doing anything or that turnovers are out of control. We went through the lull of HB's not able to break tackles, QB's throwing terrible passes, and WR's not being able to catch. That was really boring and it really made you think twice about throwing another dime into watching a dot that does absolutely nothing of use.

Not to mention a lot of people don't play this game with any sort of football logic in mind when building a plan.

So the compromise is that everyone can make plays offensively and defensively. I think that mark was mostly hit besides Blitzing LB's and break tackle receivers/TE's.

Audibles just make entirely no sense for this sort of project as this point right here. Gameplanning is already a good dose of RNG roulette, why would you want the game to start stacking the odds against good gameplanning?
