Hey guys, I've been away from this game for more than 4 years and was just wondering if someone could tell me how active this game still is. I spent a lot of money on players back in the day and was interested in getting back into the game but the forums seem to be much less trafficked. Do people still create very competitive teams and leagues here? Also there appears to be a GLB2 now, had everyone moved over there. I am trying to do as much research on my own but if someone could help guide me into where the game is headed and how active things are, that would be greatly appreciated!

The game is not nearly as active as it used to be. Most team forums are dead. There are very few people who are into this game and active. Most leagues have plenty of CPU teams. Competition is only among a small handful of teams.
Since you have a GLB account you have a GLB2 account. You can go over there and get a free player and see for yourself.

Dang, I guess it was more of a pipe dream that people would still be playing this the way it was in 08-09. Is it worth keeping players ere and trying to catch back on or would you advise making the switch to 2?

Unfortunately this game gets worse every season, the admins are just waiting for this version to die

First - welcome back! Things may be a little quieter than in '08/'09 and there have been a lot of changes since then, but you'll find the sim itself is a little more stable, no major changes from season to season (which some folks seem to like and others, uh, don't). If you liked it before, I'd probably say it's worth checking it out again, but I'm biased.
If you're curious about GLB2, you should poke around and check it out (you can navigate over there by clicking the WG Games logo in the bottom left hand corner). It's a different feel from "GLB Classic". As you might imagine, some folks prefer 1, some prefer 2, some like both. You can make up your own mind. But I would take any rumors about GLB's imminent demise with a grain of salt. We're definitely still here, still working on new stuff you guys (well, some of you guys) are going to like.

Like fucking what? You guys haven't mentioned shit in seasons. Get your heads out of your asses and tell the user base that is actually still here and posting what the hell is going on and stop letting the game die and tell us what you are "working on". Unless you want the game to die. At least tell us that. Fuck bruh I mean i know i appreciate seeing you post in the main forums. But you're the only admin that does. The only other admin that posts is cornfuck in the "Dark Souls 2" thread in gaming cause he's a dumbass and doesn't know shit about this game.

Compare that to the current size of the Rookie Class of Season 41: 7,798.
Basically, this season's Rookie Class is 895 dots behind the pace of last season's Rookie Class right now.
Of course, the Day 39 final numbers are what matters the most. But the Season 40 Rookie Class was smaller than the Season 39 Rookie Class, so the trend is definitely not going in the right direction for Season 41's Rookie Class -- or for the future of GLB1.

I would take any optimistic claims about GLB's bright future with a grain of salt.

It'll last as long as it lasts. Could be a few seasons or tens of seasons. No one knows. Game is fine. Gloom and doom has been part and parcel of GLB forums since around S3 or so. Play and enjoy it if you care to or don't. I'd suggest playing it, but others - who still do - will disagree. Just par for the course!
