This is wide open for more and/or better ideas so please feel free to add or expand.
But I think keeping this as simple as possible would be best.
If nothing else, it's a topic for discussion.

Here are some *suggestions

*Plateau Players only. 280 to 440 day old players only.
This way it's not much concern for owners about frequently inactive agents.

*Auto-pick style draft with random cpu generated draft order.
So Owners don't have to be online at the same time.

*Entering a player
Once you've entered your player(s) they are locked in for that season.
If your player doesn't get drafted, he then goes back to regular old free agency.
If an agent has a bunch of players and wants to take some time off, away from the game, No worries just enter them in the draft.

*Teams
Teams don't have to start from scratch.
This could be a way to just replace recruiting.
Teams can also sign free agents through the current methods.

*Owners
I'm assuming only very active owners would be interested in this type of league.
Maybe some sort of application to GLB is warranted to have a team in this league?
Players would be less leery of inactive owners.

- Player drafts

yeah here's the main problems with drafts...

1) Bort always felt that players should get to play wherever and with whoever they wanted to (provided they adhered to level / age restrictions)


so that basically prevented any drafts from really taking place... the idea was then suggested (similar to yours) that leagues could be designated "draft leagues" and that players would enter into the league and then could be selected by the teams

However... the problem with this was that Bort felt the player base was really fractured too much already. With casual and pee-wee, Bort just didn't really want to add any other leagues in. This is what ruled out ironman leagues, "semi-casual" leagues, locked team leagues, etc etc



unfortunately that's the long way of saying that "Bort has deemed that any new league styles won't be occurring."
