from d.40 to d.48 teams lose one chem point each time the following occurs:
Cut a Player
Sign a Player
Trade a Player
Allowing a Player's contract to expire (or in other words not extending a dot)
I have no problem in general with Chemistry being a factor in the game.
It definitely adds an aspect to ownership that adds to the experience.
But in certain highly competitive conferences and leagues, especially with the reduced player base we have now in GLB, it impedes fair competition and harms the game.
I cite USA Pro League and the World League as examples. A team takes nearly a year and finally fights its way to the top tier, adjusts their roster to compensate for the higher level of competition and then has to fight the chemistry issue. And to say losing 1 to 2 % of your team's attribute totals isn't a big deal is just wrong. We've all seen the crazy missed vision checks, fumbles and pick sixes at the beginning of a season that can't be explained by any other circumstance other than a Chemistry deficit.
We've got two teams. We didn't "cut" a single player. But we did have a significant number of contracts on non-competitive builds we let expire. Yet on rollover to d.41 we lost 12 chem points on one team and 17 on another. Facing the chem hit for signing replacements is one thing and probably a good thing. But losing chem points for letting a contract expire hurts the game.
