Not sure if any of the older ones remember me, but eh, no reason to fret.
I haven't logged in for a few years now so bare with me.

Got an email about GLB2, so i logged onto it then subsequently went to see if this site is still running and lo and behold its just how it was when i left.

Can anyone gimme a quick update about GLB,GLB2 or anything else I should know?

I wouldn't even know where to start.

Player building has changed, all dots get max XP when on a team regardless of playing time, regular equipment is free, blah blah blah

Well i guess my first question would be whats the diff between GLB2 and GLB (other than the change of dots)?

I honestly can't stand the layout of GLB2s site, but thats a side note

GLB2 is a more dumbed down version of GLB created for uber casual users.

Ah okay, i like the interface though, good job Bort (assuming hes still in charge of this place)

You're not alone.

Anyway, you might have two free player slots now, and I'm sure you'll have some leftover Flex. Might as well use them.

Best day to create dots is still during the off-season, but it doesn't matter as much exactly when anymore... any day after Day 40, you'll get the same number of Training Points as if you'd created a dot on Day 40.

For now, I'd create a dot with one of your free player slots and just screw around with it for the rest of the season, then retire it on Day 40 and start over for realz. (When you retire your free player, it'll open up that free player slot to use on another free player.) That'll give you a chance to practice and see what's changed and what's stayed the same.

Can't say I'd recommend buying any additional Flex at this point unless you think you're gonna enjoy GLB2 or a future game that Bort makes later, but might as well use up your current Flex and use your free player slots.

Yeah, flex points bought here on GLB1 will also work on GLB2!

GLB1 isn't as active as it once was, but we still support it and you'll still see plenty of folks posting their opinions. GLB2 is more active.

Correct. Bort's made it pretty clear that when you buy Flex, it can be used in any Warrior General game. (Warrior General Games is the official name of Bort's company now.) Of course, at the moment there's just GLB1 and GLB2, but he's mentioned in the past he's working on a couple more.

Well, I think GLB1 is in trouble down the road. There weren't that many Rookie teams created this season -- only 3 normal Rookie leagues and only 2 Casual Rookie leagues -- and those teams had trouble finding Rookie dots to play for them. And if history holds true, 65-75% of this season's Rookie dots will be retired somewhere up along the line before reaching Plateau. So, round 'bout next February, we will hit a point where WL and Natty Pro teams won't have enough new dots entering Plateau to replace the dots that will be hitting Decline and retiring.

Just take a moment and think about what that will probably mean for GLB1. If GLB1 is the only game you plan to play, buying Flex right now is a very, very bad idea.

However... we're not there yet. Still plenty of people playing right now, and still plenty of fun to be had right now. Just keep that dark future in mind before you purchase any Flex.

The most important addition is the buy flex button at the bottom of your screen. Buying flex was so hard before but now everytime I look down at it I just buy some more.

i changed mine so that it says "buy kelp"

ppl only playin this game cause their 1999 eMachines running windows ME can't handle guild wars 2 or world of tanks am i right
