A LONG time ago, a guy named AngryDragon started spreading a ST guide around.
Personally, I found it to be quite flawed, but it took the game by storm, mostly used by people who wanted a simple guide for STs so they could just set the depth chart and then ignore STs for the rest of the season while they focused on O and D.
I found it useful, but for another reason... it gave me a starting point for setting up Special Teams, and then from there I made adjustments and tweaks until I found a system that worked for my particular team and my particular personnel.
And that gets into what makes STs so tricky sometimes: it all depends on the personnel you have and on what you're trying to accomplish. A team with a bunch of dedicated ST-only dots is going to handle STs differently than a team with no dedicated ST dots. Some teams just want to avoid having their returner lose fumbles and avoid giving up big returns by the other team and otherwise couldn't care less about STs, but those teams are going to set up their STs differently than teams that are trying to break off big returns, or teams that are trying to force the other team's returner to cough up the ball.
So... more info needed, really. What specifically do you want to accomplish on STs? You've done the equivalent of asking "What is the best way to set up my offense?" There's a hundred different answers dependent on thousands of variables.

Haha this is true. I just want to stop big returns is all.
Use fast dots that can tackle on STs defending. Use dots with STer VA and Distance Runner VA where possible.

Yep, that's the one I mentioned earlier.
Like I said, it's flawed, but it's a starting point, and he does have some good observations in there about dot behavior on special teams plays. It's worth a look for sure. Just don't run with it blindly.

agreed, I use this as a starting point and then adjust around whatever team I have. PeeWee teams can't follow this as most of the dots can either run or stop people and not much combination of both lol

Just don't go too small on coverage or you risk a lot of your dots getting pancaked.
