As GLB 2 is everything this game is and has been missing, and more, how long until GLB "Classic" sees its demise? I give it a season, or two...

im not so sure it just dies off. I could imagine it gets to the point where we create high level players without going through the ringer in order to maintain leagues though.

they seem like 2 totally different games to be honest. I personally will spend my time here. Most of the people I know prefer this one as well. Should survive for quite awhile. most will go check it out and be playing both games at same time.

This is a coordinator's game, GLB2 is more of a player's game. As mentioned, I think they are different enough to co-exist. Personally, I can't see myself getting involved with GLB2 the way I have been here, but I have made a bot and will play over there until it is boring.

I created a player on GLB2, and watched him play his first pick up game for about 2 minutes, and logged off. I likely will not log back in. I'll be staying here. If this dies...I'm gone.

this is the problem though. its more fun for players on glb but more fun for coordinators on glb1. without players, coordinators are useless so glb1 will die soon.

Not when you (and a few friends) can just make your own team. GLB1 will almost certainly contract. However, the best teams start off day 1 with a full roster, and I don't see that changing much.

Depends on what you mean by "die." They'll never shut down the servers for either because the people who subsist on these games don't want to get other jobs, but in terms of functional interest GLB1 is already dead. There haven't been nearly enough dots created the last couple of seasons to even dream of filling out the high levels by the time they hit plateau. If you assume the normal attrition rate of dots getting abandoned or retired along the way, there aren't enough to fill National Pro six months from now, much less Regional Pro. That sucks because the game itself is pretty fun, to me at least.
