my returner has 17 total adjusted tds and is behind a guy with a whopping 1 total td. in what fucked up universe is a 1 td player a mvp over guys with 17, 6, 5, and a bunch with 3?

edited out the curse in the title

I agree with you, I really have no idea how mvps are calculated... so I can't say what for sure is wrong, but it does seem wonky at times

leave the curse in. maybe it would finally get their attention. last season, we had a guy lose his mvp during the playoffs. you'd think that whoever goes into week 17 as the mvp should still be the mvp on week 20. but not according to glb logic. i know what the problem is with the mvp calculation and its an easy fix. remove the position comparison, and team contribution and you'd end up with a far better formula. especially on st where is shouldnt matter how many hb, wr or cb are playing returner in that league. the base position should be irrelevant since their isnt a returner position.

+1 to fixing MVP formulas across the board.

and +1 to fixing whatever the problem is with positions for KRPR-- there does seem to be a bias against HBs for some reason that makes no sense at all.

but -1 to getting rid of team contribution factor. this is the essence of MVP I think--how valuable that player is to a given team. There will already be trophies on the awards page for Most TDs, Most Yards, etc. MVP should be about overall contribution. But there should be some rule across the board that an MVP can't come from a team with less than X human players and that an MVP can't come from a team that loses more than, say, 7 games. The team contribution formula is too easy to exploit for a cheap MVP trophy.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/stats.pl?season=38&league_id=103&conference_id=206&stat=sp_teams&sort=punt_return_yards/punt_returns&playoffs=0&stat_type=adjusted

a cb with 16 adjusted TDs is losing to a hb with less than 4. pretty sure its because there are no other hb returners in that league.
