Or give people discounts who have owned the same team for 10+ seasons.
There are some people out there who buy/sell teams often. But there are also some agents who do their best to keep a full roster season after season. The latter group should be rewarded imo.

Give discount for extending ownership 3 seasons and/or 5 seasons
+1 to both penalizing selling a team back mid-season and rewarding long term ownership.
can you clarify what you are suggesting for 3 or 5 seasons?
this could mean a discount if you renew for 3 seasons at once (mabye something like paying 1000 upfront instead of 400+400+400) or it could mean an owner should get a discount for holding a team 3 seasons or more. I'd be in favor of the former, but the latter 3 seasons isn't long enough to really show longevity. Five seasons might be, but 10 would be more like it. I've had one of my teams almost 25 seasons now, and I didn't even join GLB until late in season 11.
Maybe a better idea would be some kind of discount on seasonal renewals that increases every season, so grows bigger the longer you keep the team. Like 3% per sesaon. If you have owned a team 10 seasons, you'd get a 30% discount. Starting in your 34th season, it no longer costs you anything to renew. Team purchases/renewals must only be a fraction of GLBs revenue when compared to boosting, so wouldn't seem like GLB would lose out on much, while they'd be encouraging stable, long term franchises with responsible ownership.

Pretty sure he was referring to the renewal aspect for the 3/5 season thing.
ETA: I would just like to add that in order to qualify for any bonus, the team should have to have had 40+ human players on the roster each season. If the team goes all CPU then any sort of bonus that had been accumulated should be reset.
