with SOOOO many CPU teams at some levels, some teams have 4 worthless preseason games. those 4 games are a small part of what owners pay for each season, and right now we're not getting our money's worth.
why not just give each team 6 free scrims per seaons instead of 2 and let us pick our own preseason opponents vs. teams it would be actually useful to play.
the current system is kinda like an NFL team scheduling games vs. 4 local middle school teams. doesn't help in testing out game plan at all.
alternately, if possible, maybe CPU owned or majority CPU rostered teams could just not be scheduled to play human owned teams or teams with mostly human players.
if this can't be fixed, then reduce the flex cost to renew a team to 375 or 350.
another approach that would be fine IMO

just give teams 4 free scrims that have to be used by day 1, and leave the 4 scheduled. that way if you get crappy matchups, you can still schedule your own.
