Is agility really that important for a power rusher? Wouldn't strength, speed, and carrying be more important to develop first?

Absolutely. It figures heavioly into some of the SA's, too. Your basic skill points are what control when, and how hard the SA's activate in game. you won't get much out of the SA's in early levels, but after L12 or 13, they can really start to show.

Each SA seems to have a basic skill thta controls when and how strongly it activates in a game. Quick cut is controlled by agility and speed. Pancake SA is controlled by strength and blocking. Etc. Most SAA's have a description and mention what basic skill does this. In some cases, it takes into account your skills compared to the opposing player. If a player's headfake skill is kicking in, your speed and agility seems to be compared to a defender's vision and agility. If yours greatly outweighs his, it will kick in earlier and he'll freeze sooner.

IMO, unless you just want a speedseter, agility is more important for every player. Speed is not fully utilized without agility, unless you have a break-away run. Agility and speed team together for acceleration, which is more important than raw speed.

yeah, i was wondering about agility in FB's as well .. but in a slightly different way.
everyone says speed speed, but doesn't agility determine acceleration? Wouldn't pumping agility more help you get to top speed quicker?

Now, yes. That was one of the things they put in this season. I started this thread before they implemented that change though.

It was always this way. The formula was changed so that even more agility is required for fast acceleration.

Not sure how right I am, but I have been building 1:1 speed agility. Currently my speed is half of both tailbacks and I am getting to the second level or corner on pitches just fine.
