I know this has been answered before but is there anything I can do while I'm away at bootcamp ?

Babysitting an account is not allowed, yet not enforced strictly. If you quietly leave it to a GLB friend or RL friend it should be fine.

Actually, it is allowed in these instances, Support will make a note on the account of whoever is watching the account as well as his.

Not worry about GLB
Yea, recruit some of your fellow (or gal) boot campers and get them hooked on GLB1... or GLB2.
Probably better them go to GLB2 as it seems it's less work, can't have the boys distracted thinking about "dammit, did I set the auto train for the CB yesterday?" while doing the over-under course.

I left for basic and GLB changed majorly. From my experience, here are some tips:
1) You are about to go do something great. Don't worry about this dumb shit and go do what you need to do.
2) Keep an open mind. They will fuck with you for no reason just to make life stressful. It's part of learning and part of growing. Don't ever believe that you are the reason for something or treat anybody else that way either. Ultimately, they will find something regardless.
3) You are a member of a team. Work together and support each other.
4) Remember that you all come from different backgrounds. Some will know shit that others won't and some will have skills others won't. Learn from each other and don't ever look down on one of your teammates for coming from a different path of life than you.
Do us proud brother. Best of luck!

Great post and agree completely. My basic was way back in 93, but that would have been great advice anytime I think.

I haven't heard of anything regarding that. Even so, his training was already paid for so it would cost more money if they didn't send him. What will most likely happen is that he will get paid less than what he should make and be retroactively paid in the future. The drill sergeants and others are active duty and must continue to do their jobs even without pay. BS if you ask me but that was the stipulation. However I believe President Obama found a fund to continue to pay those that are still working for the country.

Yep, that was my unit. Home about 2 months. There is a better article of us meeting with the mayor of Torrington a few days later.

Not the one I was looking for as I'm not a big Register Citizen fan, but this one too.
