If I join a D-league team today, I'll still be able to join a real team for S37, right?

Yes. D-League teams are equivalent to CPU owned teams. You may be offered and accept contracts at any time while on a D-League (or CPU-owned) team.

I think that he was asking if being on a team on day 40 made him ineligible for a rookie/pw team. The correct answer is as long as your age is zero days, you are eligible for rookie/pw teams regardless of when you were created.
