Lets talk in general terms about the chances for interceptions and the role that "catching" plays.

If all other aspects of the build are identical, I'm guessing that there's roughly 3 "levels" of interception likelihood:

CATCHING NOT TRAINED: Only interceptions come on badly thrown balls, and/or against lower level competition.

CATCHING TAKEN INTO THE 40s: Most interceptions with this build will still come on badly thrown balls, but the occasional interception can be made on a good defensive play by the defender.

CATCHING TAKEN TO...? Here's where I struggle--I'm guessing that at some level of "catching", the likelihood of interceptions roughly doubles over the middle category above (catching taken only into the 40s). But I'm not sure where that point is?

What are your thoughts?

I think you get a big jump at 60+, which is nice to see after catching being irrelevant to them for such a long time.

Ive got a CB lvl 54 on my nat minor team with 60 plus catching leads the league (lots of cpus) (maybe not a good gauge) with 5 ints. 12 overall counting the scrims. Appears catching probably does help some.

i see the biggest increase at 60+... 6+ int's a season.

<30 catching is maybe 1-2 per season

50 catching and 7+ sticky hands can wind up in the 5-7 int range for a season.

you also have to consider stacked INT%. guys with 20-40 catching are probably not stacking int gear

guys with 60+ catching probably have at least 1, most likely 2 int% and some sticky hands also, but these guys are usually the ones that dont tackle so well.

The most important variable isn't the amount of catching but the quality of the competition. Any half-decent CB with 50+ catching can pull down a good number of INTs, maybe even 10+ in a lower reg pro league. A really top of the line INT CB can pull down 40+ in reg pro. But take those two CBs to WL and the decent CB will be lucky to get 2-3 and the INT build might get 10 depending on RNG. If you want INTs, just play in reg pro.

Playing on aggressive will get you roughly double the picks as playing on semi-aggressive, maybe more.
50 catching and aggressive can get you 10+ INTs in pre-plateau leagues. When you start facing decent plateau QBs it takes a lot more catching because they have crazy +pass quality% bonuses and 10 Tight Spiral, etc.

...if he's targeted on 200+ throws.

Not too hard to do that.

The game I linked was a pro team (who got the 11 picks) playing a WL team.

In a private scrim? I'd rather see it happen in a real game. And it matters more over the course of the season than one RNG fuckfest.
