Does selecting this include Big I (which has different personnel than I/WI/SI), and if so, what's the point of that?

Same with "Singleback (any variation)"

are these just holdovers from before there was a greater diversity of formations?

or if you do, make sure to have BiGi and SinglebackBiG/Spread/Trips formation inputs above them in your DAI

I Formation (Any) has been there as long as I can remember, before Big I I think. The Singleback ones are new. But...

Any I does include the BI formations. I have used it and given CB2, BTE as the 2nd coverage option using the same defensive play. The same applies to the 3WR formations. You can actually make one play to cover all formations but you have to be careful. On SB formations CB3 must be WR3 & BTE to get the proper coverage.

set # of WR to 2 and 2 if you want to use it without big I, or put big I before it like someone said
