The top 3 teams completed blowouts, while a few teams lost ground and one out of the top 10 completely.
Rank - Team name - Standings - Synopsis - Change
1. Austin Lumberjacks (9-1) – Another walkover game for the Lumberjacks, taking apart the Portland Pimps minute by minute, finishing with an 80-0 victory. Austin put up nearly 700 yards of offense while allowing barely 100. Austin’s cakewalks will end with the Clams coming up next, but another victory is certain. (0)
2. Miami Canes (9-1) – Yes, the writer of these rankings is the center for the Canes, but 376 pancakes in one game? That’s got to be rankings-worthy. Canes destroy the imploded Horny Hoku, 118-7, who can look forward to at least better results and a new team name. Miami faces another above .500 team next in Buffalo. (0)
3. San Marcos Rivermen (8-2) – Yet another blowout victory, but the most noted aspect in this game, only 4.5 positive yards allowed. 6 sacks and -61 yards allowed rushing. The Rivermen need to keep that defensive dominance up though, as they face the Roos next in easily the game of the week. (0)
4. Raving Mad Dawgs (8-2) – Mad Dawgs pull back their magic as they defeat the Legends in a close 13-6 battle. The hogs up front made the difference as Raving ran for 150 yards while allowing only 40 on the defensive end. Up next for the Dawgs is a battle with the Phoenix Resurrection who need a big name win. (+2)
5. New Orleans Golden Kangaroos (8-2) –The Roos offense is on a tear, scoring 30+ in their third game in a row, all against decent or good teams. A well rounded attack pushed N.O. forward for another good win leading to the matchup with the #3 Rivermen. Ratings favor San Marcos, but the game isn’t played on paper. (+2)
6. Las Vegas Legends (8-2) –Legends were unable to get it all clicking against the Raving defense, gaining only 262 yards of offense which led to just two first quarter field goals. Rex Vick was intercepted twice, once in the red zone which could have been the difference. L.V. gets a “tougher than the record shows” Tallahassee next. (-2)
7. N.H. Hounds (8-2) – The Hounds are thankful for Tru Aim who negated a great J-Hawk comeback with a 42 yard field goal with just 34 ticks on the clock. This raises big questions about the Hounds who had previously had some good wins, but this one? Not so much. Hoku is next, so worries are held over this next game. (-2)
8. Anchorage Maulers (7-3) – Pounced on the newly named Roswell Space Pirates, previously the Out of State Orangebloods with a methodical solid victory. Over 400 yards gained against the Space Pirates who are rebuilding quickly. The Maulers seem to have an easy schedule ahead of them for now. (+1)
9. Phoenix Resurrection (7-3) – The Resurrection got back in the winning column by pounding on the Cougars for almost 500 yards and 41 points. They forced no turnovers, but held Colorado to under150 yards, which is almost as good. Next is a big time battle with #4 Raving Mad Dawgs. (+1)
10. (TIE) Dallas Strikers (7-3) – Strikers pull back into the top 10 with a tie for the spot after beating the Teabaggers by 14, who last game beat Raving Mad Dawgs! Dallas needs to be careful with the interceptions as The Duce threw three into the hands of the Teabaggers. Up next is Omaha, then a big game with Las Vegas (+1)
10. (TIE) H-Town Oilers (7-3) – The Oilers yawned their way to another big win, knocking off Chicago by 40. Possibly a concerning aspect was the four field goals inside of 40 yards for the Oilers, while the Clams only points came from a 50+ yard FG. H-Town gets Tucson next, who are also 7-3 and are looking for Top 10 love. (+1)
Out – Key Largo Barracudas (7-3) – Had a chance to really establish themselves with a softer spot in the schedule, but unable to run a few more needed wins together
