Anyone ever tried making vision the main on a dual threat qb?

I wouldn't make a DTQB that way. At the most I would cap vision 2nd @83 or 78 if you were going for a 70/30 split between passing and rushing.

on a true dual threat with even passing and running, that'd be crazy--there's not enough SPs to do that
if you're talking about a QB that can move around, then it's probably a good idea.
I'm also assuming you're talking about natural attributes and not stacking EQ in Vision. You can get triple digit vision and still get throwing to 160+ with VA support.

I'm just curious if a super high vision QB set to 'scramble often' would be able to make faster decisions and find either the open man or an open running route with enough alacrity to make consistent 5-6 yard gains.

So, basically Tommy Rees? He always knows the right thing to do, but he's never fast enough or skilled enough to actually be able to do it.
Just not sure why you'd want to intentionally build a player like that.

Sounds like you want to be sacked,

I don't think this would work in the way you wanted.
You probably would get some faster reads etc, but the cost to throwing and scrambling skills would make it pointless.
But hey, go for it!

This, scramble often tactic is code for "bail too soon and run into defensive lineman"

More vision wont make them avoid the coded pathing that is in the sim already.
IQ vs Vision... IQ will always prevail, and most paths show the true IQs of most dots as they run towards defenders.
