A year is a long time.

Each season now lasts 48 days. Add 9 days for preseason, including day 0, you get 57 days.

If you create a dot after day 40, then you have 7 seasons and preseason of season 8 before you can boost to 79.

So you get 57 days X 7 seasons, plus 9 days after for final preseason, plus the number of days between creation and day 48. So 399 + 9 +(1-8) = 409-416, or 1 year, 1 month, and 2-3 weeks.

That kind of commitment does help curb down the number of teams and dots. So you have to be not only good, but also committed and have agents all with you, active throughout the process. Winning isn't easy, nor should it be. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing it take 2 less seasons.
