What are peoples opinions on playing a FB at HB and a TE at FB.

I'm pretty sure the penalty is supposed to be slight but I know some OC's that don't want to take any penalty they can avoid.

I was currently to working on an experimental rushing focused offense that used 0FBs, 4 HB's and 4 TEs. The 3rd HB was the back up power and also moonlighted as a pass blocker, but as I compared it to the rushing FB I saw that it was much better ALG, SA, and $$$ wise and so I'm considering the repercussions of using the FB as the HB instead.

FB at HB can work okay. There's still gonna be an OOP, but it's not TOO bad.

TE at FB... eh, I'd be more hesitant there.

doubt its bad at all. if bort is going off somewhat realistic goals for OOP, TE at FB wouldnt be much of an OOP

The TE at FB is only so my formation choice isn't too limited so I can occasionally use I forms. It's intended to be a power Archetype TE at any rate so at most he'll catch screens from there. However as the FB will be using a pass blocking focus and that TE using a run blocking focus I figured it'd make a better lead blocker on say Goal Line formations/ Big I on their occasional yet necessary use. Saving space for the defense/STs to have more players is another goal of the offense so utility players are useful

Anyone willing to try my experimental offense one future season?

Last 2 seasons he's gotten probably 80% of his carries at HB instead of FB. The OOP must be small, because his performance hasn't suffered at all that I can notice.

Also, I've used FBs at TE (especially scat FBs) and they've looked as good as receiving TEs in pass patterns, so the OOP between TE and FB must also be small.

However, don't try moving a STOP center in to play blocking FB. Never seen 130+ speed look so slow...lol

I use scat FBs at HB all the time. works well for me...
