is a 3-4 better to run against a team that passes heavily? I have the personnel to run both a 4-3 and a 3-4, just trying to decide which is better. how about against a balanced team that does a lot of both? which defense is suggested in these situations?

I'm playing against this team on Sunday. If you look at the scouting report they pretty much play a 50-50 offense when it comes to running and passing. What kind of D do I use for that?

You've got the #1 offense, and #1 defense.
You obviously know the answer to that.

the best dc are lazy simplests. blah blah we'll do our most avrage until STAR QB gets us up by twoscores then we'll blitz the shit outta them. or just let our two de passrushin studs use their energy after up by two or so scores. cover 2 dc in the nfl must be q fun job. fastestest players on earth. easy scemes. ha
i still dig cover 2 43 defense. real conservative save for one blitzer off the edge. get good players and youll destroy offenses

I just laugh because I watched a lot of colts games. they never blitz and rarely ever made a play in fact until peyton got them up by a few. then freeney and mathis would smash the shit outta everyone for like a te minute stretch then go back to bed

stopthe rush. you could probably get away with real conservative gameplan man. just play simple run defense. its way easier to stuff a run game in glb than youd think looking at numbers. pow pow pow. have every dumbass in the front 7 standing at the line of scrimmage . go frm there

it's casual tactics so lean heavily on the run when im setting the percentages?
Dunno... I'd be more inclined to ponder what my offense will be doing against their defense. Reason? If you get ahead by enough points by halftime, I suspect the AI will be switching their offense to a more heavy pass style in order to catch up. (or should.... logically [and here come the game logic bashers
] .) So if you think you're gonna score a lot against them, I'd set for pass. If it's a more balanced game between 2 balanced teams, then go closer to 50/50.

I like rushing 3 because you can get more pressure by blitzing a LB or DB and if you don't, you have another DB to double up the receivers. I don't see any difference in pass rush between three down lineman and four to be honest.
