The owner of one of my teams sent a reminder to the players saying to level up their equipment. I wasn't aware that was possible. How do I do that?

Yep, every 8th level (8, 16, 24, 32, 48, 56, 64, 72), you can upgrade Regular Eq and Advanced Eq. (Custom Eq is a little different... it can be upgraded at Level 8, 32, 56, and 72.)
To upgrade your Eq, just go to your player's Equipment page and look for the little Upgrade button on each piece of Eq.

I don't see that option. When I click on the Equipment page it shows what I have and there's an option to remove it but that's it aside from the button for buying new equipment. I haven't purchased any equipment. I've put the free equipment on all my players. Do I have to purchase equipment in order to level up or should that apply to free equipment too?
That reminds me, why did I get +2 for each piece for some of my players but not others?

Did you wait until you were Level 8 before you bought your Eq? That would explain it.
Basically, is each of your Regular Eq pieces already giving you +2 per piece? If yes, then that means your Eq is already upgraded for Level 8.
