Kickers and punters have their own MVP. There is no reason for them to be in the OMVP rankings.
In the situations where this happens, they are detracting from the ability of offensive players to win the MVP equipment. This should not happen simply because a team in the conference is incompetent at getting into the end zone.
If kickers can be OMVP, why not punt returners? They play on 4th down just like kickers, and they can be responsible for yards gained AND points. Obviously, the answer is "They're not offensive players, so no offensive MVP." And that is exactly my point. If it doesn't apply to punt returners, it has no business applying to kickers.
It's a very simple fix, so I don't see why this couldn't be accomplished.
1) Will it improve the user experience with the game
Yes, as users who have offensive players will have a better chance of winning MVP/equipment for their players.
2) Is there a business reason for implementing the suggestion
Yes, as being cheated out of an MVP or equipment can detract users from continuing with the game.
3) Does the cost of devoting the coding time to implementing the suggestion make sense
I can't imagine it would take very much time or coding to stop kickers for being eligible for the MVP.
