is there some way to tell it to let as much time as possible run off before calling a time out before a FG attempt?

No. Bort has it coded the way they want it to be. You can't use the AI to override it.

There are actually a couple of weirdo AI tricks that kinda trick the sim into giving you some control over that, actually.

Unfortunately, I can't remember what they are.

Not to make it let the clock run off before a timeout is called.

Actually, yes.

But like I said, I can't remember how to do it. Something to do with having an input/output for kicking FGs, setting the time just right, and setting the timeouts remaining number just right.

Grr... why can't I remember how to do it?

might work if you had 2 timeouts left... but I was looking for a way when you have just 1 to let the clock run down before kicking
