Sometimes from the snap, the defense sniffs out the screen and is 100% ready for it.

It's 100% illogical that the QB drops back and throws the ball to his receiver knowing that their is near 0% chance of a catch and run (the essence of a screen play).

Makes more sense hat a QB would have to pass a vision check and (If the OC has set it), QB checks off the screen and proceeds onto his other receivers.
To balance it, I guess the defense could have a vis check that changes their thinking from screen -> blitz or screen -> cover or something, idk much about defensive vis checks, but near half of the offensive line is gone, so this will give the defense a fair crack at the QB.

Does anyone agree?

This is worse than a yello1 suggestion.

I would settle for screens working as a counter to blitzes (like lol RL) rather than getting just getting insta sacked.

Well when you talk about getting insta sacked 1 of 2 things are bad. Either your QB lacks the speed to get back in the pocket or your oline is getting worked. That isn't the games fault.

I never said my team was getting sacked, only that it happens.

Again, nice job troll

Seems you are trolling here. Sacks shouldn't happen on screens?

Mostly no cause the QB will throw the ball at the feet for an incomplete pass rather than take one. And screens aren't designed to slow down a team from going all out to get a sack?

Yep, responding to your troll has led me to trolling?

They do slow down a team going all out sack. QB's with adequate speed that have olinemen built to withstand break block stacks don't get sacked much on screens. I find it funny that you say your team doesn't (obviously that would mean you are doing it right) yet think it is a problem.

If you read my suggestion the OC would have to input the checkdowns, if you don't assign checkdowns it will be like every other screen play where he QB holds and dumps.

Explain?

No excuse for anyone being ok with a QB staring at a HB with 2 defenders hovering over him waiting for him to cach the ball.

1. QB should be smart enough to say, no this wont work, and checkdown. or'
2. QB should tuck and run (usually better then a loss on HB screens that are sniffed from the snap

You don't check down a screen pass.

Also you would be lacking blockers and be sacked every time.
