so ive been adding extra inputs like "weak i no tag" "sb spread no tag" etc etc. just in case i forget to tag someone or somehow the offense messes with my tags so im not stuck with GLB plays. will these override my other inputs?

say its single back, passing qb, elusive hb and rec te. i tag all three of them (passing qb, speedy for the HB and receiver for the te). would the sb no tag input ever fire or would my input for that specific setup always fire?

What exactly is this you are talking about? Sounds like advanced stuff, but I'd love to learn!

Put them (the base formation inputs) on the very bottom of your AI. AI reads top-down so your 'Single Back pQB eHB rTE' will fire first if it's higher in the AI.

It's good to have every formation covered without tags in case you ever forget to tag or don't get to tagging an opponent.
For example, going inactive unexpectedly, getting scrimmaged, etc etc

Assuming you have your defense set up by formation than just put the no tags at the bottom of each formation as B1G stated. Some teams will put in kickers or punters at QB for handoffs or even screens to mess with QB tags.

I like having the 'catch alls' for the times you forget or choose not to tag.

If you hvae tags inputted then your 'no tag' stuff won't ever fire. It's just a 'catch all' for the situations where you don't tag anything.

It will if it's above your tagged inputs.

i have all my Big I (like PHB/RTE/RTE, PHB/BTE,RTE etc etc) then i have Big I No Tags, then i move on to I Form and follow the same thing. so it wont ever fire unless i want it to which is only when i miss a tag, forget to tag or someone is in a weird position like kicker at qb, right?

I was trying to figure some of that stuff out myself. Is there specific scripts you guys use or anything a noob like me wouldn't know? I'm just trying to take in how much there is to this playcalling and what not. Lot to look at.

There are no scripts for this type of stuff. Its just matter of learning and understanding how the AI works and creating plays and installing those plays into your AI.

Which is why you might consider having a "tutor/mentor" available as well as pouring through all the forums. When I first started, I had a good one (he's long gone now) who would answer all my stupid noob questions. You can find one by asking around. Most good dot builders know a few good OC's and DC's even they aren't one themselves.
