I know I will catch some flack from this question but seriously think back to the best times of GLB. we had teams like the Cobra Kai that basically made people hate them. and people hated them not only due to their forum posting but also that the team was hard as hell to beat. the old Saigon Whores were about the same. I know of a few other teams that did the same but not to the extent of the 2 I mentioned. I guess my question is simple. does having the teams that play the bad guy or heel make the game more enjoyable or does it hurt the game?
Forum > Goal Line Blitz > Do you miss the teams that played the heels of GLB?

obviously
the only thing this game had going for it was people like SI to hate
trolls did more good for this game than bad

The game needs people to hate. Most of the early game rivalries have either disbanded or moved onto the WL so that's the only place where people talk anymore. Pro league talk is picking up a bit, but the game is nothing like it used to be where every forum from bbb13 to usa pro were full of shit talkers and rivalries.

Part of it is the cloud structure. Used to be you had the same set of guys in your regional ladder the whole way. The institution of the "rivalry" system that kept some teams together in the cloud helped some, but there is no identity below PLs anymore.
I'm not saying the changes weren't necessary, but I know folks CoP came up with when the cloud was first implemented and we tended to run into the same teams thanks to the "rivalry" system. But then we picked the SEA ladder, they picked EE, and e never saw each other again. But at least there, we had to rise up the final SEA ranks before SEAPL. Now the PLs are condensed, there is no regional ladder, and so it is hard to hold any rivalries below WL/PL.

BBB being a lively environment is such a played out meme myth.

Yes. It also doesn't help that there are only about 8 really top coordinators in the game, so it's really hard to talk shit to another team that is run by the same group of people that run your team.

Cobra Kai was pretty irrelevant to the sim, but heels/trolls are great for the forums.

thats a load of crap from a shithead. in seasons 1-15 the BBB was some rivalry building times. long term teams with long term goals with low turnover and lively forums. plenty of learning going down, it was a blast all the way through triple a

Sorry to hear your BBB leagues were shitty, but "the BBB leagues I was in were dead" does not equal "ALL BBB leagues in the whole game were dead."
Some BBB leagues were indeed shitty. Some were very lively and active. It just depended on the particular group of people in any given league.
