Hey guys,

After a long time of reading the forums and experimenting with the VPB, I think I now know the basics of building an average dot. Except for one thing: From what I've read, there are situations where you don't want an atrribute to roll over but rather stay at ~90+ % progress. Why is that and can anyone give me a fictional scenario in which this applies and explain it?

Thanks in advance

Yeah. You want to get your main attributes complete. (To your desired cap)

Lets say you are building a Coverage CB
You want your main attribute (Speed) to be at 84 for example.
You have been training it up and now have speed trained around 96%
As you finish leveling up and get you Speed attribute to 84, you will now want to train it up and over to reach 85. By doing this you have just gained another SP level to speed and added 8 more SP values to your CB's build.

This is just an example and I hope it has helped you understand how it benefits your player.

If you are going to stop training an attribute but you still plan on adding Skill Points to it you want to stop training it as close to 99% as possible. When you add your last planned SPs to it the final training roll over is worth much more than if you had rolled it over before you put SPs into it.

This, multi-training and training upgrades are three of the key factors in building a High EL dot.

Basically, I think what they are saying is this, for example...

You have an attribute trained to 95% at value 47.9. Now, your options are:
1) Increase it by +1 with a SP, and then train it to go from 95% to over 100% and thus increase build value by another 1SP. You are spending 1SP to gain 2SP's.
2) (don't do this) you can train that attribute first and go to 48.9, which is above the soft cap. Now you will need 2SP's to increase by 1. You are spending 2SP's to gain 2SP's.

Season 34 is my first season back since beta though, so correct me if I'm wrong guys!

I would keep training my main(s) at 48, 49. I train my mains up high. When I get close to my desired cap I stop training my mains when above 90% Then when I do reach my Goal, my desired SP cap on that attribute. I finish it off by training it over my desired cap to maximize SP gain. Real similar to what you are saying, I just do it in a more extreme way. Also by doing it the way I do it, as it rolls over other caps, I get those SP bonus gains as well, which in the long run save me spending SP's on my main, and having them to use down the road on other attributes. The most important thing about this is I reach my Caps as soon as I can and take full advantage of the ALGs.

ignore all advice posted above in this thread and read this thread instead - especially the jdbolick quote

training above the caps is very efficient and will get you a better dot in the long run
