using WR to block LB with speed on sweep plays and screens

ok... ill try to help you out here

on outside runs you want the WR to come down and either block the LB or the in the box Safety
right?

right we played this in school and it was fun and usefull because WR covered by CB usually and open zone for HB/FB/RQB and make a block on LB or safety

the only issue i see here is most crack blocks are done with motion or specific spacing...

cool so the CB goes unblocked and takes out the play.

OP (I think) is calling for a 'crack screen' so the goal is for the WR to take out the LB or safety that otherwise would be covering the HB (who receives the screen). The defensive back covering the WR performing the maneuver on the LB, if in man, is pulled inside leaving space to the outside.

Alternatively, you have the OT release to ensure that there is a lane for the HB receiving the screen.

yep. it`s a small change and will bring more fun to both offense and defense

RL complicated blocking schemes don't equate to GLB. That is what I mean. I know what he is talking about.

I wrote earlier about blocking and pass rushing for both O and D linemen but it was negative maybe this will come in

Unless the WR is a power build, the LB will just run right over him... Would love to see crackback blocks, but need right personnel

speed can replace power cos for univercity and higher split of a second that matters
