In the play above, the only way to get the Quarter defense with 5 Cbs, 2 Safties and a LB is to use the play as a singleback or some sort of passing offense because Big I just wont allow the options. So how did they get the 3rd Cb on the right side? I'd imagine 2 Cbs are covering WR1, then the 3rd is covering a WR3 that doesn't exist?

could have been many things

could have set to cover TE w/out move

or set to cover HB w/out move

or set to cover FB w/out move

or set to cover WR1 w/out move

or just set to a zone

no reason you can not use quarter D formation against any offensive formation, there are no restrictions like that

Just move CB2 to the weak side.

oh I totally misunderstood

he asking how to get 3 CB's on weak side and only leave 2 on strongside

I think of everything from a QB's perspective, so when he said right side I was thinking strongside (right side from QB perspective)

but yea, like OSRIS said...and sill easily done with other options, and it's still not restricted

I would imagine you can get all 5 CB's over on WR1 if set to cover man (normal, not w/out move) but have never tried

can you 5 man a receiver?

Its just a quarter defense with CB2 moved to the left side of the field.
