I know this has been a fight for a long time here on GLB but can defenders not be delayed as long before they can run again after intercepting a pass.

this interception should atleast go to the 40 yrd line

here might be a better example

I know these aren't perfect builds but even rookie league players don't take this long to get moving

Both either look contested or diving catches, since each dot is on the ground very shortly after the interception tick. Seems accurate to me, -1

dots with higher catching skills and nobody around will take off running... its a "fix your builds" thing

+1 to anything more realistic than what we have now... should be more INTs and a lot more INTs returned for TDs

its way too easy to avoid turnovers in the game

i understand that but catching shouldn't make dots just not move?

dots with catching/sticky hands/ and int% can rake in 20 interceptions a season... they do return some of them, but seriously how many pick 6's do you need. Its so much better defensively getting an interception now than it used to be when they nerfed everything completely.

average NFL QB (min 150 attempts) throws 1 INTs per 41 attempts, ranging from Tom Brady (1 per 80) to John Skelton (1 per 22)

average GLB WL QB (min 100 attempts) is 1 per 90, ranging from Tim Freebow (1 per 255!) to Nathan James Jr
(1 per 28 attempts).

I know GLB is not the NFL, but its pretty unrealistic for anyone to throw 254 times without an INT. another big difference is that in GLB a smaller and less diverse number of defensive players are likely to make the INTs.. so basically the problem is that its too hard for a defender NOT SPECIFICALLY built to make INTs to get many, while a few (mostly DBs) get the lions share.

It shouldn't be very easy for guys not built to make INT's to get INT's.

Alternatively good INT builds are getting 10+ INT's in a season under a rotation and not playing 100% of the time.

ok this got off topic im not saying increase interceptions, im asking why is catching relevant to dots being frozen after they do intercept?

Dot is basically lunging to get the INT and goes to the ground. WR is just touching him down. Happens alot in NFL.

dot jumps intercepts it stumbles still should go more than a yard or 2.... happens alot in the NFL especially when its a S cutting off a route

Consider momentum of any given play and you'll understand why INT's don't get returned for TD's much... here OR in real life. Most INT's either happen as previously described (Player must JUMP UP to intercept the ball, giving those around him [such as the receiver he stole the ball from] time to tackle before yardage is gained)... or the INT is made while running AWAY from the LOS (if the DB in question is in man coverage, this is the most likely occurrence). Either scenario results in no returns for TD's. Most INT's that DO get returned for TD's are either when someone correctly jumps a screen of flat pass... or the player is in zone coverage and breaks TOWARDS the LOS when making the INT. Those plays allow for the player making the INT to keep their momentum better.
