I am building a run stuffer OLB. He is in prep league right now. He's doing all I ask him. Play against BLocking TE, FB, OT. Stay on his feet and disrupting screens, outside runs.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4405531

I tried on VPB what is build could look like end build here's what I got . What do you guys think I should change. I use him like 20-30 plays a game against blocking TE. He's not playing coverage at all. He's run focus

Player Build
Position: lb_hard_hitter
Season: 6
Day: 1
Boosts: 30
Level: 79
XP: 0
VA XP: 250
VA: 69
Bonus Tokens: 1649
Training Points: 0
SP: 20

Attributes:
strength : 101.1
speed : 137,26 (+55)
agility : 86.1
jumping : 51.26
stamina : 49.26
vision : 78.1
confidence : 40.26
tackling : 84.1

Top SA Tree: | 1 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 0 |
Bottom SA Tree: | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Additional SA Tree: | 10 | 28 | 13 | 2 | 2 |

I dont really like the SA tree for LB. I'll get more in monster hit. Probably get first step as additional VA. I used 10 in Wall (don't know if worth it). What AEQ should I get him. I like Break Block, maybe Avoid Fake and FF ?

See if you like his performance.

Nice build thanks. with these type of players you need to watch game tapes to realize if they good or not. I like your build but mine will have less stamina he doenst play a lot. You also went with superior vision, not a bad idea. I saw 10 in defense general but mine won't play MLB so I'll use 10 in something else.

do you like the way he plays ? our end builds will be similar but different positions. Thanks

Can't say I like it.
101 str isn't enough to fight 130+ str blk TE and FB, and inefficiency at forcing fumble make it a waste as primary attribute.
I think if I do it again I will build a 100 tackling machine with 80 str.

alright thanks so I might sacrifice some speed equipment in strength then I won't nee 130+ speed playing only on the edge

I wonder about those numbers, my guy wasn't built quite as well, but seemingly missed fewer tackles. Perhaps had something to do with other variables I guess. I liked watching this guy alright, the 96 was slightly lower than it really needed to be, so i will echo that.

More tackling, agility, and vision - less strength. I like at least 85 tackling, closer to 90 preferred. 90 agility and well over 80 vision will help you avoid fakes as well.

~90 agility/vision/tackling (with football genius), <100 strength. Doing pretty well in WL I would say (#7 in conference). He is an ILB though.

yeah all your players are playing ILB. Mine will only play OLB run stuffer. He will only face Blocking TE, FBs, OTs.

So I'd probably expirement with 101+ strength maybe like 120 and maybe 100 agility. He won't need that much speed because I only want him to break block and stop the blockers.

I would not recommend going below 130 speed, even for a true power LB

Also even as a run stopper i'd want an avoid fake piece and a make tackle piece which wumeow's LB is lacking.

This player is exactly what you're looking for: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=3870815 And yeah, I'm happy with him. Only pancaked four times this season while being pretty disruptive against run blocking. He generally doesn't make the play himself but sets the edge and allows others to do so.

Meh. I already did that: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2308391 I much prefer the equipment in speed.

For STeams or MLB purposes it's nice to have but if you're lining them up close to the LOS give me the strength guys. Both teams I'm associated with carry two.

I feel like a speed eq LB such as my dot posted above provides a lot of the same utility as an all-strength LB, but with the ability to get to the edge and stop outside runs. Granted he has 2 less revcakes and has been pancaked 7 more times this season, but I will take that along with the extra 26 tackles and generally expanded playmaking ability
