As we all know, there is a mildly steep learning curve with GLB. Helping new users avoid the same mistakes we all made is a HUGE help to their enjoyment of the game.
That being said, the Wiki and the FAQ forum aren't enough.
What I am suggesting:
For those of you familiar with MailChimp, this will be really easy to understand. MailChimp has a 'personality', a monkey that hangs out at the top of the screen. I've added a screenshot here for you: http://oi47.tinypic.com/29bbjua.jpg
The monkey is on every page and acts as a mildly humorous voice.
GLB should add a 'personality' to be present on every page (it could be positioned on top of the GLB banner). He'd spit out various GLB tidbits (collected from Bort Q&As, the Wiki, building tips, etc.). With every refresh of the page, it'd randomly select another tidbit.
And of course this 'personality' would be fully optional. Capable of being turned off in your account settings. It's mainly aimed at newer users, but there's no reason it couldn't be beneficial for most users with Bort Q&A type stuff.
