I'm guessing not, but who knows. Maybe someone with very high Closing Speed would be effective.

Then of course there are the times when we seem to be playing Far without wanting to, heh. Saw a few posts about that earlier.

My most recent game played it tight and my guy seemed to be playing as far from his man as possible. Frustrating as hell when you're getting scorched by the pass.

I'd say everyone plays tight. But with the right vision and speed, maybe a good amount in the Closing Speed SA, playing far coverage could make it more possible to be involved in more plays at other areas of the field.

I use medium because I play better with it.

Probably because opposing Wideouts are 4-5 levels higher.

Next season more players will have to use settings other than tight, or in some instances medium. Right now a CB assess the play and if he thinks the WR can burn him he will play off even if set to tight. Basically, it's idiot proofed.

Next season from what i've heard, Bort is going to tweak is that if your set to tight, you stay that way instead of assessing the play. This is a good thing for those of us who study there opponents, but I'm guessing alot of people will complain when they have bad builds and are set to close/aggressive and get beat. I'm eagerly anticipating this update myself.

It was in one of the many threads I was in yesterday. Serenity posted it, if I can find it i'll post it but it was either in GLB, suggestions, or bugs about coverage

When covering somebody, players calculate whether or not they have appropriate help over the top, and how risky it is to let the guy get past. The higher the calculated risk, the further back the player plays, modified by his coverage distance settings.

but he will switch it up somewhat next season. if you're set to close you're going to stay close even if the guy will burn you.

So basically it is idiot proof now and will adjust so people won't complain they always get beat when they stupidly go close/aggressive on a wr much higher lvl than them? That kind of sucks for those of us who do our homework and know when to use which settings The time my Dline gives teams to pass they CAN'T go deep so it really hurts that we give them easy outs like happens.

Does that also apply to this play Serenity?

Why the right CB seems to drop back into a "Zone" when we play 100% man?

Well it's going to be made so people can take more risks now (and get burned more)

Can't wait to see the people complaining about how their CB got beat deep instead of giving up the cushion

@ amo368: Levels mean nothing, build means everything. How do you know WR doesn't have more speed then the CB.

luckily someone bumped it or I wouldn't have kept looking

I like it how it is now. Its stupid to make it so the players are always stuck in close coverage even if its obvious they shouldn't be. On my team im the 3rd CB so Im usually matched against the 3rd string WR on nickle plays. I would want to play them close. However once in a while Ill get subbed in to cover the high level WRs on the other team. It would be silly if it made me play close against this guy for 1 - 2 plays just so I can play close to the other guy for 40+ plays. Any CB would know to play farther back if they had to cover some1 one like TO or Randy Moss.

Yeah, I agree. There are too many variables that can be involved with a defender in coverage to have it ALWAYS stay close or ALWAYS stay loose. Maybe if they tie in vision somehow so higher vision means you have a chance to adjust.

Next season the D advanced AI should be in and I think that they will be giving DC's better control over matchups, which could solve your two's concerns. Not positive though, but thought I remember hearing that some where. I for one am glad they are changing it. Hate when the system changes my settings. My CB has been beat for 1 TD in 3 seasons and responded with 4 ints later in the game, so for me at least them doing these adjustments usually just leads to teams nickling it down the field on my CB's which is very frustrating. Would rather get burned on my settings then have them ignore it and let up the small gains personally. But my defense also has alot of components others don't so I can see your guys concerns
