idk exactly how to explain what I am proposing, and even if it does come out understand, it will probably be set in flames, but:

You know how Highschool athletes verbal/commit to colleges, sometimes as early as sophomore year? There should be something like that, that ties a certain player down for the future.

My motive:
I made a PF this offseason, and recruited damn near a full roster,
after the person who was supposed to buy the team effed around until like Day 46, I decided to buy the team myself (oh boy), and be owner.
Little did I know, like 15/20 of the 45ish dots I had amassed had already began to sign with other teams/retire. If I had some kind of bondage that prevented them from signing with another team/retiring I would not be in the desperate situation I am in now, scavenging for dots.

Of course to make sure people don't troll:
you could enforce some kind of hefty penalty for when a future Owner fails to come through after binding dots down.
The verbal commitment only lasts until like D45 or so, where the player is released, and rewarded (whatever that is) and is let go to find another team.

Understand where I am going/coming from?

I dunno, if a dot committed to a team, and then found out that I am the offensive coordinator for that team, I'd hate to see them stay trapped into playing for that team anyway. That's just cruel.

It would be a form that has all that stuff filled out,
or something like that,

obviously the agents would be protected.
