There should be an option for players who sign with teams and are not put on the rosters. If you are not added to the roster after 1 week of signing there should be an option for the player to be added to free agency. Valuable playing time and experience is wasted in some cases you might as well retire the player after its ruined by the dorment owner/GM. The way its set up now adds to frustration by agents and has caused alot to quit this game. If there is a safeguard set up agents of players can rest to know they have that option. IMO Actually 7 days is too generous 5 days would be better if you can go through the trouble of sending an offer at least be there to add the player to the roster.

As long as you're on the Roster, you get XP. You don't have to be on the Depth Chart.

Beyond that, if you think your dot is being accidentally or even intentionally rotted, just file a Support ticket. They can review your specific situation and take action as needed. Really no need to make this automated, and there could even be situations where it could be exploited.

why not add more contract stipulations, i.e. sign as a guaranteed starter and you can't be moved on the depth chart.

problem solved, problem stays solved

Any owner who guarantees any dot a guaranteed starting spot is either A.) a filthy liar, or B.) an idiot. You don't want to play for either one.

You get XP but not as much as if he actually played the game. How do you get exploited if you dont put him on the depth chart/roster you lose your rights to the player in question. If you are an owner who pays even the most minimal attention you would never have to worry about this, The ball is in the owners court he will never have to worry about being exploited if he pays attention to his team. Im not in favour of guarantee starter because sometimes an owner has to solidfy and improve his team to keep up with the competition. Support tickets takes too damn long we need a built in method where agents dont have to worry about owners/GMs being either lazy or spitefull in certain circumstances. 7 days off the roster and the agent gets the option of free agency.... I know of 2 people who have quit playing this game because of owners negligence. The owner wields all the power and can really suck the fun out of GLB. I dont mind playing backup just want to have fun with this game and see how well my players perform. I still cant see how an owner is exploited if a player is not on the depth chart in a 7 days span he then gets the option of going free agent.

Untrue. The days of experience being based on plays in a game are LONG gone. You get max XP by being a roster. Doesn't matter if you play or are on the depth chart.

Incorrect. Being on the roster means you get max XP. You don't have to be on the Depth Chart or even play in the game, as Romo said.

No, what I'm saying is that a clever owner and agent could use this feature intentionally, in cooperation with each other, to get around things like the Day 24 release-cut-off to save on end-of-season salaries after a team's playoff run is done. And there's probably other ways to use it too... team owners can be VERY clever when it comes to finding ways to use new features like this to their advantage.

Again, there's simply no need for this. Support already takes care of problems involving dots not playing. Making any part of this automatic simply invites potential abuse.

Oh, Don't do that all the time. If you do you'll miss out on the interaction in the Human Owned Team Forums and some of them
can be lots of fun.

Just make sure you check out the Owner of the team you're looking at. PM a GM or two and find out. Just accepting any contract
that comes to you in your Alert Box from any team.... well, not the best thing to do. You may also want to pm a couple of the Agents
who already have dots on the team.... they are going to let you know the real story

i mean write a code to make it literally so the player can not be moved from starting on depth chart

Way to over-react there, Poindexter.

There's plenty of human team owners out there who are active, dedicated, and will be straight-up and honest with you about your dots. You just have to do some homework to find out who they are.

If you just blindly accept the first offer that promises you a starting spot, you're gonna end up playing for an idiot. You have to be smarter about who you sign your dots with. And if you get in a bad spot anyway, PM Support and they'll help you out.

Absolutely nothing in this thread means your only two choices are "Get screwed by human owners" or "Play for CPU teams." Quit being so binary.

Any owner that used that option will regret it.

This isn't real football. Starters don't get 90% of the snaps and you generally don't have a ton of dropoff when the backup comes in.

In all honesty a simple PM to the owner or coordinator will usually fix issues like this. If they ignore the PM or reply in a hostile way then that only helps with your efforts to be removed from the team.

That's no different than an owner promising you a starting spot... and any owner that promises you a no-exceptions starting spot is either A.) a filthy liar, or B.) an idiot. Your suggestion does not change this simple truth.

Any truly good owner understands that they have to have the freedom to adjust their depth chart and tactics depending on what's happening in their games. And with this in mind, any truly honest owner would never promise anyone a starting spot. So, any owner who promises you a starting spot is either lying through his teeth and will bench you if he sees the need, or will idiotically stick with you as the starter out of blind loyalty even if the team as a whole is playing worse because of it.

Too many agents think that a promise of a starting spot is a golden ticket. It's actually a red flag. If an owner promises you a starting spot, RUN AWAY!!! Do NOT sign with them.

This.

About all I'll promise is that we aim for fairly equal PT. Specialized dots are told that they may not see the field as much as others (though their role is important). About the only exception I make is when signed STers. If I have a STOP gunner I'll promise them specific positions on coverage teams but that's not the same as promising a starting spot.
