Let's define our terms, shall we?
Helmet Crash is a VA, while Big Hit and Monster Hit are SAs.
Helmet Crash VA:
Ouch! When this player tackles the ball carrier, each level of Helmet Crash gives a +3% chance to reduce his opponent's morale and energy by an additional -3, and a +3% chance of doubling the morale/energy effect of Big and Monster Hit tackles.
Big Hit SA:
Put a powerful hit on the ball carrier. The Big Hit skill increases the chance of causing fumbles and reduces the morale of the player being tackled. This skill is important for strong, powerful tacklers. Repeated Big Hits will make tackling your demoralized opponent much easier. Additional Levels: Increases the chance of causing a fumble.
Monster Hit SA:
Lay a thunderous, highlight-reel type hit on the ball carrier. The Monster Hit skill has a very good chance to cause a fumble by players with mediocre or poor carrying ability. It will also greatly demoralize the ball carrier. This skill is the ultimate intimidation ability. Your opponent will be afraid to get hit next time, and may cough up the ball. Additional Levels: Increase the chance of using the skill effectively, and increases the chance of causing a fumble when using it.
...
So, I guess it depends on why you're using Big Hit and Monster Hit. If you're using them mainly for the hits to energy and morale, then yeah, I'd use Helmet Crash since it's a pretty big boost to those energy and morale hits.
But if you're using Big Hit and Monster Hit to force fumbles, then Helmet Crash isn't going to help with that at all. Well, maybe a little, since a player with lower energy and morale is more likely to fumble too. But if you're looking for a VA that will increase your forced fumbles, Helmet Crash probably is not the best bang for your buck.

Helmet laws suck.
Do they still exist in some States?
Tbh, a helmet once saved my life. But just like the seat belt law, I don't agree with it. If I die from not wearing a helmet or a seatbelt it only hurts me. Should not be a legal offense IMO
Not to derail thread.... Theo started it

really?
as far as i understood.. low morale and energy is what causes players to fumble, drop passes, etc. While it doesn't state it explicitly helps with fumbles.. it seems like it would help in a round about way.
Gig hit: " Repeated Big Hits will make tackling your demoralized opponent much easier"
Monster hit: "It will also greatly demoralize the ball carrier. This skill is the ultimate intimidation ability. Your opponent will be afraid to get hit next time, and may cough up the ball."
